SKILLS REQUIRED
Primary (Must-Have)
- 5+ years of healthcare analytics or data science experience with direct exposure to healthcare economics, actuarial analytics, or value-based care measurement.
- Strong SQL skills with proficiency in Python or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, and measurement.
- Strong understanding of medical and pharmacy claims data, standard healthcare code sets, data quality issues, and healthcare utilization.
- Experience with risk adjustment, attribution, cohort construction, utilization/cost trends, comparison groups, ROI, and outcomes measurement.
- Ability to translate complex analytical methodology and findings into clear client-facing reporting and presentations.
- Strong documentation and analytical problem-solving skills, including investigating data anomalies, methodology questions, and reporting discrepancies.
Secondary (Good to Have):
- Experience with risk adjustment models, quality measures, shared savings, total cost of care, or value-based care programs.
- Experience developing client-facing or externally published healthcare analytics/reporting.
- Experience working with Snowflake, modern BI tools, and cloud-based data platforms.
- Experience partnering with Data Engineering, Data Architecture, and client-facing teams.
POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Data Scientist with healthcare economics and value-based care experience to develop and improve analytics supporting client reporting. The role will focus on cost of care, utilization, program impact, ROI, risk adjustment, attribution, and outcomes measurement. The ideal candidate will combine strong SQL and Python/R capabilities with practical knowledge of healthcare claims data and the ability to communicate analytical methodology clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and enhance analytics for cost of care, utilization, program impact, ROI, and value-based care reporting.
- Build and validate methodologies for risk adjustment, cohort construction, attribution, comparison groups, and outcomes measurement.
- Translate analytical results into clear, credible client-facing reports, narratives, and presentations.
- Document analytical methodology to ensure results are explainable, auditable, and reproducible.
- Partner with Data Engineering and Data Architecture teams on models, data assets, and reporting infrastructure.
- Investigate data anomalies, client questions, and analytical discrepancies and resolve them using evidence-based analysis.
