About the Opportunity
The Cash Applications Specialist manages daily cash application and reconciliation activities to ensure accurate posting of accounts receivable transactions. This fully remote role supports the accounting function by maintaining reconciliations, analyzing cash flow, and coordinating with clients, attorneys, and internal teams on accounts receivable matters.
Responsibilities
• Verify and post accounts receivable transactions to journals, ledgers, and accounting records.
• Analyze general ledger accounts and reconcile them with detailed ledgers and supporting schedules.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts related to accounts receivable.
• Receive, deposit, and accurately post checks to the accounting system.
• Sort and file supporting documents after transactions are posted.
• Follow established procedures for processing receipts and cash transactions.
• Use computerized accounting and billing software to process financial transactions.
• Prepare daily cash flow analyses and monthly reconciliation reports.
• Communicate with clients, attorneys, and internal staff regarding accounts receivable matters.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
• Experience in accounts receivable and cash applications.
• Proficiency with computerized accounting and billing software.
• Strong understanding of account reconciliation and general ledger processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Ability to communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.
Pay Range and Compensation Package
• Compensation varies by location and experience.
• California: $50,000–$103,000 annually.
• New York: $47,000–$102,000 annually.
• Washington, D.C.: $65,000–$96,000 annually.
• Discretionary bonuses may be available based on individual and firm performance.
