6-12+ Month ContractRemote (candidates should be located in CST or EST time zones)

Our client is looking to add a Senior PM that will be responsible for collaborating with stakeholders to ensure business requirements are clearly defined, documented, and understood.

They will define project scope, objectives, risks, assumptions, dependencies, and resource requirements. Ensure realization of business benefits while managing organizational change impacts on clients and internal teams. This person will partner with leadership to support governance frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives, particularly in MSP and enterprise environments.

Program & Project Planning

Translate program phases into measurable, actionable project plans.

Establish timelines, milestones, deliverables, and success metrics.

Develop and maintain project roadmaps aligned with strategic objectives, including MSP transitions and mainframe modernization initiatives.

Execution & Delivery Management

Manage programs and projects in accordance with established project management methodologies.

Oversee multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment on timelines, quality, risks, and deliverables.

Lead delivery within Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments, including onboarding, transition, and steady-state operations.

Manage projects involving mainframe systems (e.g., modernization, migration, or infrastructure upgrades).

Monitor project scope, schedule, and milestones to ensure successful delivery.

Ensure adherence to quality standards and client expectations.

Risk, Issue & Change Management

Lead identification and management of risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.

Act as escalation point and implement mitigation and corrective actions.

Proactively escalate barriers impacting timelines, scope, or deliverables, especially within MSP contracts and legacy/mainframe environments.

Leadership & Team Management

Provide strategic direction and leadership to cross-functional project teams.

Assign tasks, set expectations, and monitor performance.

Coach team members and provide ongoing performance feedback.

Facilitate cross-training to ensure continuity and minimize coverage gaps across distributed and specialized teams (including mainframe and MSP operations).

Communication & Reporting

Communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to internal and external stakeholders.

Manage executive-level presentations and reporting with clarity and precision.

Ensure timely and accurate program/project status reporting, including MSP service performance metrics and SLAs.

Financial & Resource Management

Manage project budgets, costs, and financial performance.

Support financial planning, including forecasting, MSP contract financials, and revenue recognition.

Collaborate with leadership to secure necessary resources for project success.

Data & Performance Management

Develop measurement frameworks to track progress and outcomes.

Analyze project data and generate insights to support data-driven decision-making.

Report key findings and recommendations to senior management.

Education & CertificationRequired

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering, or equivalent experience

10+ years of complex IT program and project management experience

Strong experience in IT outsourcing, Managed Service Provider (MSP) environments, and infrastructure management

Demonstrated experience managing projects involving mainframe systems (e.g., IBM z/OS environments, legacy modernization, or migrations)

Core Skills & Experience

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and MS Project

Strong financial and budget management skills

Experience managing MSP engagements, SLAs, and client deliverables

Familiarity with mainframe technologies and cross-platform integration

Excellent leadership and team management capabilities

Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced environments

Willingness to travel as required

Preferred

PMP (Project Management Professional) certification

ITIL and/or ITSM certification or knowledge

Experience in project financials and revenue recognition

MBA or advanced degree in Business, Technology, or Engineering

The anticipated hourly rate range for this position is ($70-$80/hr). Actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills and other factors permitted by law. A range of medical, dental, retirement and/or other benefits are available after a waiting period.
