Imaginate Your Space · Remote · Full-time
About Imaginate Your SpaceImaginate Your Space is a Worcester, MA-based company that does K–12 space makeovers: cafeterias, serving lines, hallways, gyms, and more. We take a school's mascot, colors, and story and turn them into murals, wall graphics, signage, and dimensional pieces. We design it, build it in our own shop, and install it. Our work started with murals over 30 years ago and has grown into full-room makeovers.
About the roleThis is an entry-level spot on our design team, reporting to our Design Manager. You'll handle the prep, organizing, and revision work that keeps projects moving, so our designers can spend their time on the artwork itself.
You don't need experience in our industry. If you have a design foundation, you're organized, and you want to learn how to design spaces students use every day, we'll teach you the rest.
What you'll do- Set up artboards for new projects with notes, measurements, client requirements, site photos, and reference images
- Research each school before design starts: mascot, colors, logos, history, and themes
- Collect and organize the logos, photos, and brand files schools send us
- Apply Imaginate Your Space templates, fonts, and styles so boards are clean and ready for review
- Add client feedback to artboards and make revisions as directed
- Handle smaller design requests: text changes, color swaps, layout tweaks, resizing
- Help with internal graphics like flyers, marketing pieces, and one-off layouts
- Keep project files in Dropbox organized, with consistent naming and clear versions
- Flag missing or unclear information before work starts
"Here are the client's notes, the current artboard, and a few references. Organize it, make the updates, clean up the presentation, and get it ready for review."
You take it, work through it, ask questions when you need to, and come back with a finished board.
How our projects runMost projects take several months from kickoff to install and go through multiple rounds of client review. You'll work on several at once, each at a different stage, and some will sit quiet for a few weeks before picking back up. Keeping files organized is what makes that work.
What you need- Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- A good grasp of typography, layout, hierarchy, spacing, and color
- Strong attention to detail and accurate revisions
- Organization across multiple projects at once
- Comfort following direction and asking questions when something isn't clear
- Clear communication while working remotely (Teams and email)
- A portfolio: school, personal, or professional work all count
- A degree or coursework in graphic design or a related field
- Experience with presentation boards, brand guidelines, or client logo files
- Interest in signage, environmental graphics, murals, or interiors
- Experience with Dropbox or a similar file system
As you learn our clients and process, you'll take on more creative work: early concepts, original graphics, client presentation boards, production-ready artwork, and eventually your own smaller projects from start to finish.
