Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager join our professional services team in the higher education industry. This role focuses on managing IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with client goals, timely execution, and exceptional communication. The ideal candidate will work well on a distributed team and be detail-oriented, client-focused, and adept at coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and lead client kickoff meetings to establish clear objectives, deliverables, and communication protocols.
  • Coordinate closely with senior staff in managing concise project plans covering scope, timeline, resources, and budget.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on a variety of small to mid-size projects, and a secondary point of contact for larger projects being led by our senior staff; fostering strong relationships through transparent and proactive communication.
  • Coordinate internal resources and vendors to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and adjust plans to meet evolving client needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including status reports, schedules, and financial forecasts.
  • Ensure contract compliance and promptly address client issues or concerns.
  • Communicate key updates to leadership, including resource needs and financial impacts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; PMP certification is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience managing IT projects, preferably in professional services, customer services, or consulting services.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands.
  • Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity, empathy, and responsiveness.
  • Detail-oriented with a track record of meeting deadlines and maintaining accurate records.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Certinia, Teams, SharePoint, MS Project, Smartsheet).
