Founded in 2007, Education for Sharing was created in response to a growing need for educational approaches that go beyond traditional academic learning and intentionally strengthen social, emotional, and collaborative skills from an early age. Since then, E4S has reached more than 2.4 million children, youth, educators, and caregivers through programs implemented in schools and community-based settings across multiple countries. For more information, please visit educationforsharing.org Job Description Education for Sharing is seeking a skilled and mission-driven volunteer to support the organization’s fundraising and strategic partnerships efforts during an important phase of growth and consolidation in the United States and internationally. With nearly 19 years of experience and more than 2.4 million children, educators, and caregivers reached, Education for Sharing has built a strong track record delivering high-quality, play-based educational programs that strengthen essential life skills and foster positive learning environments. As the organization looks ahead, expanding and diversifying funding sources and partnerships is critical to sustaining and scaling this impact. This volunteer opportunity focuses on strengthening Education for Sharing’s institutional fundraising and partnerships capacity. The volunteer will work closely with the organization’s team to help refine fundraising strategies, identify potential foundation, corporate, and philanthropic partners, and strengthen how the organization positions its work and impact with different audiences. Depending on the volunteer’s background and interests, the role may involve reviewing or supporting the development of grant proposals and funding concepts, advising on partnership opportunities, helping clarify value propositions and messaging for funders, and contributing to more strategic relationship-building approaches. The engagement is flexible and can be shaped to match the volunteer’s expertise—whether more strategic and advisory or more hands-on and execution-oriented. The volunteer’s contribution will play a meaningful role in ensuring that Education for Sharing can continue delivering and expanding programs that benefit children, educators, and communities. Strong fundraising and partnerships are essential to maintaining program quality, reaching new communities, and ensuring long-term sustainability. By contributing professional skills and experience, the volunteer will help strengthen the foundation that allows this work to continue and grow. This opportunity is well-suited for professionals with experience in fundraising, grant writing, philanthropy, or strategic partnerships who are interested in applying their skills in a pro-bono capacity to an organization with proven impact, operational maturity, and a collaborative, international team. Volunteer Logistics Estimated hours required per week: 20 The estimated duration of the project is: 6-12 months This position is Virtual (Remote) Language Requirements English Desired Skills And Experience Education for Sharing is seeking volunteers with professional experience in fundraising and/or strategic partnerships who are interested in contributing their skills in a pro-bono capacity. The ideal volunteer brings a combination of strategic thinking, practical experience, and the ability to collaborate with a mission-driven team. Relevant experience may include one or more of the following:
- Fundraising, development, or philanthropy within nonprofit organizations, foundations, social enterprises, or mission-driven initiatives
- Grant writing and grant management, including experience with private foundations, corporate foundations, or institutional donors
- Strategic partnerships, including corporate, philanthropic, or cross-sector collaborations
- Donor research, prospect identification, and funding pipeline development
- Development of fundraising narratives, concept notes, or partnership pitches
Skills And Competencies
- Strong written communication skills, particularly for proposals, donor communications, or partnership materials
- Ability to think strategically while also providing practical, actionable recommendations
- Comfort working in a collaborative, virtual environment with an international team
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities independently
Education And Language
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required; advanced studies in nonprofit management, public policy, international development, or related fields are a plus
- Fluency in English required; Spanish proficiency is strongly preferred but not required
