Position Overview

The Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) performs advanced, specialized, and administrative duties for designated clients, advising on the formulation and administration of HR plans and policies.

The ideal candidate combines deep HR knowledge with strong client-service skills and the ability to ensure compliance across federal, state, and local requirements.

Key ResponsibilitiesClient Advisory

  • Advise clients on the formulation and administration of plans and policies for HR activities.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions to HR issues for designated clients.
  • Answer routine and non-routine requests for information on policy interpretation.
  • Develop proactive communications for book of business to drive strategic and relationship-oriented relationships.

Policy & Compliance

  • Provide guidance on developing, revising, and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure designated clients are informed on how to comply with established policies and relevant federal, state, or local legislation.
  • Instruct clients on best practices for audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Review and respond to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.

Claims & Reporting

  • Coordinate company-backed workers' compensation, DBL, and PFL claims with the third-party administrator and follow up on claims.
  • Prepare and maintain special internal and external reports as requested.

Training & Team Support

  • Lead special and cross-functional project teams and present training sessions related to designated clients.
  • Assist with developing and recommending workflow improvements, and provide back-up for other Business Partners as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education/Experience: Post-secondary degree in human resources, business, or a related discipline, or three to five years related experience and/or training. Familiarity with federal, state, and local labor and employment laws. PEO experience preferred.
  • Systems: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and one or more years' experience with an HRIS system; PrismHR experience preferred.
  • Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills; strong organizational skills and attention to detail; and the ability to design and deliver effective training. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Certifications: HRCI or SHRM certification required.
  • Travel: Onsite travel to designated client workplaces as requested; a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current salary pay scale for this position is $85,000 and $100,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time.
  • The position is bonus eligible after one year of service based on several factors including company performance, individual contributions and market forces.
  • The benefits for this position include comprehensive health, dental, vision, paid time off, and 401K retirement with a company match.
