About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Educational Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves engaging directly with school district administrators to understand their data analysis needs and challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining customized data dashboards that facilitate actionable insights. Additionally, they will manage and update data integrations, troubleshoot platform issues, and ensure data quality and accuracy. The Educational Data Analyst will work closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to enhance our data platform and ensure the delivery of reliable, user-friendly reporting tools. This role reports to the Head of Data Science and plays a crucial part in supporting educational stakeholders in making data-informed decisions that improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a data analyst, data engineer, or similar role in an educational or data-driven environment
  • Proficiency in SQL for database management and querying
  • Experience with data visualization tools and dashboard design
  • Strong understanding of educational data, particularly in K-12 settings
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights
  • Experience working independently on projects with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for education and improving educational outcomes
  • Nice to Have: Experience with Python for data cleaning, analysis, and automation
  • Nice to Have: Familiarity with K-12 Student Information Systems such as Infinite Campus, PowerSchool, Skyward, or Aeries

Responsibilities

  • Engage with school district administrators and educators to understand their data analysis needs and challenges
  • Design, develop, and maintain customized data dashboards tailored to stakeholder requirements
  • Manage and update data integrations, ensuring seamless data flow and accuracy
  • Provide ongoing support for dashboards by troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving platform and data quality issues
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to enhance data platform capabilities
  • Translate complex datasets into user-friendly visualizations and reports for diverse stakeholders
  • Ensure data security, privacy, and compliance standards are maintained across all projects
  • Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging trends in data analytics and visualization
