Senior Data Analyst

Work Model: Remote, working East Coast hours.

Duration:6+months, with the possibility of extension or conversion depending upon Business needs and Performance.

About the role: This role functions as a Senior Data Analyst supporting a critical Financial Crimes Risk Management (FCRM) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) initiative. As a member of the Enterprise Protect Risk Factory, you will work in a high-performing team of technology and risk professionals. The position is a business-side, non-purely technical role that focuses on risk assessment, data analysis, and enabling risk-based decision-making through automation and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Support risk assessment initiatives by collecting, analyzing, and validating data.
• Develop and maintain data quality scripts and investigate data discrepancies.
• Demonstrate expert knowledge of data sources and data lineage for reporting data marts.
• Provide expertise on Key Risk Indicator (KRI) design and development.
• Document data flows, requirements, and logic in an audit-ready format to support the 2nd Line of Defense and audit requests.

Must Have Responsibilities:

• Perform daily hands-on data analysis and extraction using SQL, specifically writing complex queries including joins and aggregations.
• Collaborate with upstream data providers and downstream business stakeholders to gather and translate requirements.

Experience

• 8+ years of overall experience in data analysis or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience specifically in data analysis or reporting within a financial or risk-focused environment.

Skillsets

• Technical: Strong SQL expertise (SELECT, joins, aggregations), Python for data analysis, and advanced Excel including VBA scripting.
• Tools: Experience with Jira and Confluence.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently, and capacity to manage multiple efforts simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Education

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
