## About the Role
Semper Valens Solutions is seeking a UI/UX Designer to provide user interface and user experience design support for government systems.
The designer will translate mission and functional requirements into usable, accessible, and consistent user-centered designs. This role involves user research, workflow analysis, usability evaluation, wireframing, prototyping, design standards, and collaboration with government and contractor teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
This position is contingent upon contract award and requires an active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
### Key Responsibilities
* Provide UI/UX design support for government systems and applications.
* Translate mission and functional requirements into user-centered, accessible, and consistent designs.
* Conduct user research and workflow analysis to inform design decisions.
* Perform usability evaluations in coordination with government stakeholders.
* Develop and maintain UI/UX artifacts, including wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
* Create and maintain design standards and guidelines.
* Ensure designs comply with government accessibility requirements, including Section 508.
* Collaborate with government and contractor personnel throughout system development and integration.
* Support testing and change management activities from a UI/UX perspective.
* Prepare and maintain required UI/UX documentation and deliverables.
### Required Qualifications
* 5 years of overall experience in the relevant functional area.
* A bachelor’s degree in a related field may substitute for 2 years of experience.
* Demonstrated experience with UI/UX design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, InVision, or Adobe XD.
* Demonstrated understanding of HTML and CSS principles.
* Ability to translate functional requirements into effective user experiences.
* Experience developing UI/UX artifacts and design documentation.
* Ability to collaborate effectively with government stakeholders, developers, and other project personnel.
### Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Web Design.
* Certified UX Professional credential.
* Experience supporting government or defense-related systems.
* Familiarity with accessibility standards such as Section 508.
### Education Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
* A bachelor’s degree may substitute for 2 years of required experience.
### Clearance Requirements
* Top Secret/SCI clearance required.
