Overview:

A leading global investment management firm is seeking a Security Engineer to join their team. The firm applies a research-driven, systematic approach to investing and manages assets for institutional investors including pension funds, insurers, endowments, foundations, sovereign wealth funds, and financial advisors.

Role Summary:

The Security Engineer will design, build, operate, and maintain security technologies across both on-premises and cloud (AWS) environments. This individual will play a key role in a defense-in-depth strategy, supporting advanced security technologies, processes, and procedures that protect critical business practices and assets.

We are looking for someone highly technical, hands-on, and comfortable troubleshooting a wide range of security platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and administer network security technologies (with a focus on proxy).
• Work with next-generation infrastructure security components for proxy and data protection.
• Automate security engineering and operational tasks through scripting.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders on security challenges and solutions.
• Support operational changes for security systems while following change control processes.
• Contribute to security architecture, engineering standards, and best practice playbooks.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience designing and implementing network security projects.
• 4+ years in engineering within regulated industries (financial services preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Hands-on administration experience with proxy technologies (e.g., Broadcom Bluecoat / Web Secure Gateway).
• Experience with proxy configuration, policy/ruleset design, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
• Proficiency in network security concepts, protocols (TCP/IP, TLS, ICAP, etc.), certificate management, and identity/authentication systems.
• Familiarity with next-generation firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, and security analytics.
• Strong documentation skills with productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft 365).
• Cloud security certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, Security Specialty, Networking) are a plus.

Compensation & Benefits:

• Base salary range: $145,000 – $175,000, depending on experience and location / $250k total comp
• Eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
