About the Opportunity:
The SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER (CUSTOMER PLATFORM) role focuses on developing the customer-facing platform capabilities that underpin multiple products, including notification systems, authentication, and public APIs. This role drives the design and implementation of backend services that are crucial across product lines, partnering closely with product and experience teams to deliver dependable features used daily by customers. The position is critical for maintaining and evolving shared platform services in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and public APIs for multiple products and customer segments.
- Own feature development end-to-end from design to rollout and iteration, collaborating with product management and front-end teams.
- Produce technical design documents and lead design planning with clear communication.
- Contribute to a product roadmap that emphasizes iterative delivery and prioritization.
Requirements:
- Five or more years of backend engineering experience building production services and APIs in modern cloud environments.
- Proficiency in Go (Golang) or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
- Experience designing and evolving public APIs with considerations for versioning, backwards compatibility, authentication, and usability.
- Familiarity with microservices, cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and building observable, resilient services.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across product and engineering teams.
- Ability to thrive in a remote, fast-paced startup environment with self-direction and adaptability.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- Base salary range is $157,000 to $184,000 USD.
