Accounting Manager

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting revenue and sales-related accounting processes, managing relationships with external accounting and tax partners, and ensuring adherence to GAAP standards. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in SaaS or services-based environments and thrive in a lean, high-growth organization where they can make a direct impact on financial operations and business performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting activities.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition requirements.

• Oversee multi-state sales tax compliance and reporting across U.S. jurisdictions.

• Partner with external accounting and tax firms to support audits, tax filings, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting procedures.

• Reconcile financial accounts and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

• Support billing, expense management, and payment processing functions integrated with accounting platforms.

• Provide financial insights and analysis to support business operations, revenue tracking, and growth initiatives.

• Assist leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a small to mid sized business

• Strong working knowledge of GAAP, including ASC 606

• Demonstrated experience with multi state sales tax compliance in the US

• Experience preparing full financial statements, including balance sheet and cash flow statements

• Strong understanding of internal controls and audit readiness

• Experience working with external accounting and tax firms

• Hands on experience with modern accounting systems such as Stripe, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar

• Comfort working with billing, expense, and payment platforms integrated with accounting systems

• Experience in SaaS or services based businesses

• Experience operating in a lean finance or first in house accounting role

• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Accounting

Preferred (Optional):

• CPA is preferred but not a must have

• Experience supporting high-growth technology organizations

• Experience improving accounting processes and operational efficiency

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities

Additional Details

The salary range for this contract position is $95,000 - $105,000 / per year, depending on experience. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
