Compensation: $90,000 + Commission. OTE = $120,000-$160,000

Role Overview
The Director of Cannabis Operations will be responsible for launching, scaling, and overseeing Snoozy’s licensed cannabis operations in both new and existing recreational markets. You’ll own the end-to-end expansion process in each state — from licensing and compliance to co-manufacturing, distribution, and B2B sales enablement.
This role blends strategic planning with operational execution. You’ll work closely with legal, supply chain, product, and executive leadership to ensure each market meets both state regulatory requirements and Snoozy brand standards.
While this is a Director-level position, this role will be for someone willing to roll up their sleeves and lead in-person sales efforts in New York City, while at the same time planning and leading growth into new states. As Snoozy expands into new markets, this role will shift to less hands-on sales and more strategy execution and employee management.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarket Launch & Expansion
- Identify and prioritize target states for cannabis expansion
- Lead licensing applications and manage regulatory timelines
- Coordinate setup of local co-packers, fulfillment partners, and distributors
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure Snoozy products and operations are compliant with state laws and regulations
- Build relationships with regulatory agencies and serve as Snoozy’s state liaison
- Ensure ongoing compliance with packaging, labeling, and product testing standards
Operational Execution
- Oversee supply chain setup and inventory flow in each new market
- Collaborate with Snoozy team to standardize processes and maintain quality across states
- Own operational P&Ls and performance metrics per market
Sales Leadership
- Conduct market research to uncover opportunities, trends, and risks
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies tailored to each territory
- Conduct weekly sales visits with retail partners and prospects
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and retail partners
- Represent Snoozy at industry events, tradeshows, and conferences
- Plan and execute pop-up events, promotional activities, and customer engagement initiatives
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Hire, train, and manage sales staff
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with product and R&D teams to align formulations with local regulations
- Maintain clear documentation and playbooks for multi-state expansion
- Ensure a coherent brand-wide cannabis strategy
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in cannabis, CPG, or regulated product operations and sales
- Experience with licensed cannabis manufacturing or distribution
- Deep understanding of state cannabis regulatory frameworks
- Proven ability to manage market launches and cross-functional projects
- Excellent communication, vendor negotiation, and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel to active and emerging markets as needed
Preferred
- Prior work at or with MSOs (multi-state operators)
- Startup or small business experience
