Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) Administrator with strong experience in job automation and scripting within a healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise managing and optimizing workload automation, building custom scripts to streamline processes, and supporting scheduling requirements for enterprise applications—ideally with exposure to Epic systems. This role is critical in ensuring reliable and efficient job scheduling across healthcare applications, supporting business continuity, patient care systems, and compliance requirements. Primary Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) across enterprise environments.
- Design, implement, and monitor automated job schedules, ensuring high availability and minimal disruptions.
- Develop and maintain custom scripts (Shell, Python, PowerShell, Perl, or similar) to improve automation, monitoring, and error handling.
- Collaborate with healthcare application teams—including Epic—to build and support job schedules, interfaces, and reporting processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve scheduling issues, job failures, and system errors in a timely manner.
- Maintain documentation for job flows, automation standards, and escalation procedures.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Database, and Application teams to support operational and project initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare IT standards, security, and regulatory requirements (HIPAA, HITRUST, etc.).
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
Education and Experience
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a TWS/Workload Scheduler Administrator.
- Strong background in automation and scripting (UNIX/Linux shell, Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.).
- Experience working in a healthcare IT environment.
- Solid troubleshooting, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices for incident, change, and problem management.
- Preferred:
- Direct experience supporting Epic job scheduling and automation (e.g., Chronicles, Clarity, Cache/IRIS, or other Epic subsystems).
- Familiarity with HL7 interfaces, healthcare data workflows, and EHR/EMR systems.
- Experience with additional workload automation tools (Control-M, Autosys, UC4, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2).
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
