About the Opportunity

The Sr. Data Analyst, Finance supports financial planning, analysis, and reporting related to inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, and overall financial performance within the diamond sourcing division. This role provides critical financial and operational insights to improve inventory management, optimize gross margins, and enhance decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and report key financial metrics, including inventory balances, reserves, gross margin, and cost of goods sold.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc financial reports for management.

• Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis by providing actionable insights.

• Develop and maintain dashboards and KPIs to improve financial and operational visibility.

• Collaborate with operations teams to maintain inventory accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Analyze inventory transactions, including roll-forwards, cost variances, and obsolescence reserves.

• Partner with supply chain and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and COGS reporting.

• Analyze inventory turnover, shrinkage, and operational inefficiencies and recommend improvements.

• Manage pricing and costing data infrastructure, including pricing grids and data integrations.

• Develop advanced SQL queries and data pipelines to support scalable analysis and consistent reporting.

• Build analytical models that improve automation, standardization, and data-driven reporting.

• Identify and implement process improvements to strengthen financial processes and data accuracy.

• Support workflow and tool design to optimize inventory management and reporting.

• Collaborate with supply chain, operations, accounting, auditors, and IT teams to ensure alignment and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field, with 3–5 years of relevant financial analysis and accounting experience.

• Experience with inventory, COGS, or related financial functions; CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly inventory and COGS accounting.

• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, with SAP preferred, and financial reporting tools.

• Advanced analytical skills, including Microsoft Excel and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, or Power BI.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial findings to senior stakeholders.

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across departments.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
