Job Description

Posted on: January 24, 2026

Role Overview

We are a high-growth tech hub serving the global pickleball community. Our ecosystem supports the "creators" of pickleball play and the players themselves.

This role owns email communications, campaign execution, and marketing automations for Pickleball Play Solutions (powered by Pickleball.com). The primary goal is to support player and play provider engagement, tournament promotion, sponsor visibility, and internal business units through consistent, accurate, and well-timed email marketing.

The role spans newsletter production, promotional campaigns, transactional reminders, and automation building using DailyStory and Zapier.

While some of our foundational email flows and templates are built, we are looking for a dedicated Email Optimizer to take our multi-product offerings to the next level. You won't just be "sending emails"—you will be architecting and managing customer journey’s, campaign attribution, and automated conversion paths. You will use data and API-driven triggers to ensure that every email we send is a high-value touchpoint that turns casual users into power users.

Key Responsibilities

Email Journey Optimization

  • Audit and refine existing automated email journeys for B2B SAAS users and B2C SAAS users to improve adoption, conversion, and retention.
  • Create and optimize the "next phase" of automated emails for all of our products, focusing specifically on user activation and long-term retention.
  • Identify drop-off points in the onboarding and engagement cycles and identify "abandon cart” opportunities. You will be expected to move the needle on key metrics through iterative testing.
  • Oversee how user actions in our products trigger automated emails via DailyStory APIs.
  • Implement dynamic content logic to ensure players receive emails tailored to their specific skill level, location, and play history.
  • Proactively monitor sender reputation and manage list hygiene for a rapidly expanding global database to ensure we stay out of the spam folder.

Automation and Process

  • Build and maintain email automations that support marketing and operational workflows.
  • Create automations using filters, triggers, and audience rules.
  • Common use cases include: behavioral triggers, scheduled sends, segmented campaigns
  • Connect third-party tools to DailyStory via Zapier like Monday, Google Sheets, and other 3rd party tools

Manage "Pay for Performance” Email Marketing Program(s)

  • Generate tracking links for attribution tracking
  • Build and execute promotional email campaigns for tournaments.
  • Manage one-time and multi-send campaigns based on tournament request timing.

Advanced Testing & Analytics

  • Design and execute A/B tests on email variables including send-time optimization, content length, call-to-action (CTA) placement, and offer logic.
  • KPI Accountability - Track and report on Email Attribution, Revenue Per Message (RPM), and Subscriber Lifetime Value (LTV).
  • Collaborate with sales, support, and product development teams to align email efforts with broader business objectives.

Required Skills

  • 3+ Years of Dedicated Email Marketing Experience
  • Hands-on experience with ESPs (DailyStory experience preferred)
  • Strong email production skills (HTML templates, visual QA, link validation)
  • Campaign scheduling and audience targeting
  • Automation logic (triggers, filters, conditional sends)
  • A strong understanding of how APIs, webhooks, and event-based triggers fuel an email platform
  • Thorough understanding of CAN-SPAM, CASL, and GDPR as it relates to global email lists
  • Basic tracking and link management (i.e. Everflow or similar)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage recurring deadlines
  • Highly organized and deadline-driven
  • Comfortable coordinating across teams
  • Able to manage multiple concurrent campaigns
  • Proactive about QA and error prevention

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive salary and benefits
  • Remote work environment
  • Opportunities for growth in a fast-growing industry and company
  • Work with a supportive and collaborative team
