Financial Analysis & Controls (Contract) Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft. Summary This position offers an exciting opportunity to drive financial precision and strategic insight within a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You will be responsible for managing complex financial modeling and analysis that directly supports critical infrastructure investments. Your work will involve rigorous invoice validation, budget forecasting, and variance analysis to ensure financial integrity across large-scale projects. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including procurement, finance, and operations, you will provide the analytical foundation that enables informed decision-making and proactive risk management. This role demands a detail-oriented professional who can independently navigate intricate financial structures, communicate findings clearly, and deliver accurate projections that align with organizational objectives. Your contributions will help maintain budgetary control, optimize resource allocation, and support the financial health of strategic initiatives. Job Responsibilities
- Assemble and maintain detailed spreadsheets, charts, and graphs to illustrate financial data and support technical reporting
- Analyze financial information to produce forecasts of business conditions, industry trends, and economic factors for investment decision-making
- Review and validate invoices against project contracts, purchase orders, and statements of work to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies
- Develop accurate financial forecasts by analyzing historical spending patterns, current burn rates, and anticipated future expenses
- Interpret data affecting investment programs, including price, yield, stability, and future trends in investment risks
- Conduct variance analysis to identify deviations from budgets and provide actionable insights for corrective measures
- Collaborate with procurement, finance, project management, and operations teams to align assumptions and update financial projections
- Monitor and report on project financial health, cost exposure, and opportunities for cost optimization
- Utilize digital tools and dashboards to integrate real-time data and enable dynamic scenario modeling
- Communicate financial findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders to support strategic planning and resource allocation
Requirements
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in financial modeling
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of experience conducting variance analysis
- 2 to 4 years of financial and/or accounting experience required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required
- Expert-level proficiency in Excel, including advanced financial modeling techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Critical thinking and analytical abilities to assess complex financial structures
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in analyzing business trends and projecting future revenues and expenses
- Knowledge of economic and accounting principles, financial markets, and financial data reporting
- Understanding of federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations related to accounting
- Experience with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, and financial software tools
- Strong budgeting and forecasting capabilities with a focus on accuracy and strategic insight
- Variance analysis expertise to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
Additional Details
- Location: Remote
- Duration: 5 months
- Pay Range*: $45.50 - $51.50 per hour
- Weekly Schedule: 40 hours
- Job Status: Non-Exempt
