Senior Software Engineer I - Platform Enablement

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer I - Platform Enablement to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on strengthening shared platform capabilities that support multiple teams and improve the reliability, scalability, and integrity of the product experience. You will partner closely with engineering peers and cross-functional stakeholders to solve customer-facing challenges, simplify complex systems, and enable more efficient delivery across the organization. The work will blend hands-on backend development with architectural thinking, operational support, and practical problem-solving in a fast-moving SaaS environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $110,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Own and enhance cross-cutting platform systems, ensuring data integrity and scalability.
• Collaborate with various teams to develop effective solutions for customer problems.
• Decompose complex projects into actionable tasks, including migration strategies.
• Write efficient and secure backend code using Ruby on Rails.
• Design and optimize complex data models and SQL queries in PostgreSQL.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor peers, and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Participate in on-call support to swiftly address production issues.
  
  

Qualifications

• 5-7 years experience in full-stack engineering and building production web applications/APIs, preferably with Ruby on Rails.
• Demonstrated architectural insight in managing shared cross-team systems.
• Proven self-direction and ownership mentality, comfortable driving complex projects with minimal oversight.
• Experience in platform or infrastructure roles, especially in multi-tenant SaaS environments.
• Collaborative mindset with practical experience aligning architecture with business objectives across teams.
• Familiarity with AI tools for coding assistance and developing AI-enabled solutions.
• Strong communication skills for articulating ideas to technical and non-technical partners.
