About The Role
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst at McKesson is a highly visible, hands-on individual contributor responsible for building and scaling AIM28's analytics, reporting, and value-realization measurement capabilities. Reporting directly to the AIM28 Finance Lead, this role involves designing and owning end-to-end data models, ETL pipelines, dashboards, and automation solutions that transform complex, fragmented data into trusted insights for executives and program leaders. The role also entails supporting strategic projects as needed, ensuring that data-driven decision-making is optimized across the organization.
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in SQL, data modeling, BI visualization, automation, and AI-enabled analytics, combined with strong business and finance acumen. Operating as the sole analytics builder within the AIM28 Finance team, you will create the program's single source of truth for KPIs, benefits, investments, and value realization reporting. You will drive self-service analytics, reporting automation, and AI-powered insights across the AIM28 portfolio, facilitating faster and more accurate decision-making processes. Qualifications
The successful candidate will bring a combination of technical mastery and business understanding. Key qualifications include:
- Proven experience as a data builder or analyst with a focus on SQL development, data modeling, and dashboard creation.
- Strong knowledge of data design principles, ETL/ELT processes, and automation techniques.
- Experience working with raw data, manual files, and scattered dashboards, transforming them into integrated, reliable reports.
- Deep understanding of financial concepts such as ROI, forecasting, variance analysis, and business-case logic.
- Comfort working independently in a finance environment, owning the full analytics stack from requirements gathering to deployment and adoption.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex insights to senior leadership clearly and effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality results on time.
- Interest or experience in AI applications, including GenAI and conversational agents, to enhance reporting capabilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field; advanced degrees are a plus.
The core responsibilities of this role include:
- Design, develop, and maintain program-level and Big Bet dashboards that track KPIs, benefits, investments, milestones, and value realization, serving as the single source of truth for program performance.
- Create executive-facing reports for monthly leadership meetings, translating complex program data into actionable insights.
- Automate recurring benefit and program reporting processes, replacing manual workflows with scheduled, validated, and monitored data flows.
- Identify automation opportunities across reporting workflows, integrating AI capabilities such as automated narratives and summaries to surface insights proactively.
- Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that extract, transform, and clean large datasets from diverse sources, ensuring data quality and consistency.
- Ingest and harmonize data from various sources, including raw operational data, manual files, and existing dashboards, establishing business logic and documentation for auditability and maintenance.
- Develop governed data models and semantic datasets that support self-service analytics and AI consumption.
- Partner with finance and program teams to codify KPI definitions and benefit-realization methodologies into standardized, governed data models.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to understand KPI movements, benefit variances, and program performance, providing leadership with actionable recommendations.
- Answer ad hoc analytical questions from senior stakeholders, validating data sources and triangulating information to ensure accuracy.
- Enable self-service analytics for stakeholders, managing end-to-end delivery from requirements to deployment and adoption.
- Prioritize reporting and automation initiatives based on business impact, keeping stakeholders informed of progress and trade-offs.
- Set standards for data integrity, documentation, and version control, coaching business analysts and other team members to uphold best practices.
