Account Executive – Outside SalesFull-Time | Remote within Territory | ExemptDavenport Group is looking for a driven and consultative Account Executive to join our Outside Sales team. In this role, you’ll build deep customer relationships, expand existing accounts, and drive new business through the sale of industry-leading data center solutions—including data storage, client/server hardware & software, and strategic IT services.

What You’ll Do
- Own and grow a defined sales territory, including developing new business and expanding existing customer relationships.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key manufacturer partners (e.g., Dell EMC, VMware).
- Consult with clients to understand their IT requirements and design tailored solutions that drive measurable impact.
- Manage full sales cycle—from prospecting and discovery to solution proposal, presentation, negotiation, and deal close.
- Increase account penetration through upgrades, feature expansion, and additional lines of business.
- Write and respond to RFPs, RFQs, and proposal requests.
- Maintain accurate records of pipeline and customer activity in Salesforce.
- Deliver exceptional customer experience and ensure all engagements exceed expectations.
- Help customers align technology investments with their strategic initiatives and long-term growth goals.
- Participate in marketing campaigns, onsite visits, customer meetings, and industry events.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience, including 4+ years selling client/server hardware and software solutions.
- Experience with data storage products (3–5 years preferred).
- Proven ability to manage pipeline, generate revenue, and own territory profitability.
- Strong technical problem-solving and consultative selling skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities—comfortable presenting to executive stakeholders.
- Ability to manage a remote/home office environment and organize time, travel, and expenses effectively.
- Ability to collaborate with technology vendors and partners to architect customer solutions.
Preferred
- Prior experience selling Dell EMC and/or VMware inside or outside sales.
Location & Travel
- Must reside within the assigned sales territory, ideally near a major metropolitan area and airport.
- Ability to travel 20% or more domestically for client visits, industry events, and partner meetings.
