Opening a single school is achievable for most operators. Doing so reliably, at speed, and with increasing efficiency is another matter entirely. 2 Hour Learning is constructing a nationwide portfolio of schools engineered to condense a complete day of education into two concentrated hours through AI. This model depends on expansion that matches the precision of the educational product. This position is designed to deliver that. You will control the complete lifecycle of new school sites—from undeveloped property to fully functional campus—while establishing the frameworks that make every future launch faster, more efficient, and more reliable. This is not a conventional development position. Your mandate is not simply to oversee projects. Your mandate is to remove obstacles from the expansion process. That requires decisive judgment on site suitability, direct intervention in permitting and construction challenges, vendor negotiations, and relentless timeline management. Concurrently, you will decompose every element of this process into structured, AI-enabled workflows that minimize manual labor and enhance forecast precision progressively. What You Will Be Doing

  • Execute critical site decisions by assessing zoning, permitting, cost, and schedule feasibility through structured and AI-supported analysis
  • Oversee multiple concurrent school construction projects, directing construction managers, clearing obstacles, and guaranteeing timely, budget-compliant launches
  • Create clear, actionable capital project proposals that bring stakeholders into alignment on scope, budget, and delivery approach
  • Direct vendor selection processes, RFPs, and contract negotiations with emphasis on velocity, quality, and financial discipline
  • Break down expansion processes into discrete work components and construct AI-powered systems that shorten timelines and increase predictability

  • Functioning as a passive progress monitor relying on updates from contractors or external partners
  • Limiting your scope to a single phase (e.g., site selection only or construction only) without accountability for full delivery
  • Depending on manual, inconsistent processes that begin from scratch with each new site
  • Referring problems upward without directly addressing permitting, design, or construction obstacles yourself
  • Consuming extended periods aligning stakeholders without producing a definitive decision

VP Of Construction Key Responsibilities Control the complete expansion lifecycle of new school locations by delivering fully operational campuses on reliable schedules while systematically decreasing time, cost, and risk through AI-enabled systems. Basic Requirements

  • Verified experience directing at least one real estate development or construction project from site selection to opening with complete ownership
  • Experience overseeing multiple simultaneous builds or capital projects with direct accountability for schedules, coordination, and problem resolution
  • Deep fluency in zoning, permitting, construction, and vendor management, with capability to interact directly with general contractors, architects, and regulatory authorities
  • Proven ability to make tradeoff decisions balancing cost, schedule, and feasibility with clear, quantifiable results
  • Experience refining or structuring complex operational processes (e.g., permitting, design coordination, construction delivery)
  • Proven capacity to decompose complex workflows into structured, repeatable systems and enhance them iteratively
  • Track record of leveraging tools (AI or other technologies) to minimize manual effort, expedite decision-making, or increase execution velocity
  • Strong ownership orientation with capability to function in ambiguous environments and produce tangible outcomes
  • Willingness and capacity to travel up to 60% to active construction sites nationwide and be physically present during critical development and opening phases
  • Currently based in the US and authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship
