Special Education Instructional Coach, Unbound Academy (Remote) - $60,000/year USD
Job Description
Posted on: June 29, 2026
REQUIRED: Active Arizona Special Education Teaching Certificate and Arizona Residency. What if your Special Education background could extend beyond compliance—and actively contribute to reshaping education? Unbound Academy has redesigned school from scratch. We are the first tuition-free virtual charter school where students complete their academics in two hours daily through adaptive AI—leaving their afternoons open for immersive, hands-on learning experiences. Our Guides don't lecture. They mentor, motivate, and facilitate interactive workshops covering storytelling, entrepreneurship, design, wellness, and beyond. We're now seeking a Special Education professional capable of both: guiding students toward real-world readiness and overseeing our IEP program with accuracy. This position suits the SPED educator who has comprehensive experience. You've managed your own classroom—but you've also been the one drafting, revising, and coordinating IEPs in the background. You understand how to maintain compliance while keeping students as the priority. You're Arizona-based and fully certified. Above all, you're motivated by the opportunity to engage in purposeful work—not administrative overload—in a school that genuinely equips kids for the real world. If you're prepared to leave behind bureaucracy and practice SPED in a new way, this is your opportunity to create something meaningful. What You Will Be Doing
- Drafting, revising, and overseeing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in complete alignment with Arizona state standards
- Managing accommodations and compliance protocols across a flexible virtual learning platform
- Facilitating dynamic, real-world virtual workshops on subjects such as entrepreneurship, storytelling, or wellness
- Mentoring SPED students individually and in small groups to develop confidence, executive function skills, and independence
- Partnering with our school team to advance how we serve and empower exceptional learners
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Providing traditional academic lessons—our AI tutors manage that
- Operating separately from the classroom—you'll be directly involved with students
- Spending your time on redundant paperwork, meetings, or excessive oversight
- Adhering to a standardized teaching approach—this is personalized, adaptive education
Special Education Instructional Coach Key Responsibilities Oversee the creation, implementation, and compliance of all IEPs while guiding students through meaningful, life-skill-focused virtual learning experiences. Basic Requirements
- Reside in Arizona
- Hold a valid Arizona Special Education teaching certification
- Minimum 3 years of experience writing and updating IEPs
- Experience coordinating accommodations and handling SPED compliance tasks
- Prior experience working with students aged 8–14
- Strong virtual presence and communication skills; on-camera confidence is essential
- Thrive in a fast-paced, tech-powered school environment
