Job Title: Director Human Resources, North America
Compensation: up to $180K + 25% Bonus

The Opportunity
Our client is a rapidly growing global medical technology organization. With operations across more than 50+ countries, the organization has experienced significant international expansion and continues to invest in its North American operations.
As the North American business continues to scale, our client is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to provide strategic and hands-on HR leadership across the region.
The Director of Human Resources will serve as a trusted advisor to North American leadership while partnering closely with the global HR organization.
This role is ideal for a highly autonomous HR leader who can step into a growing and evolving environment, assess organizational needs, and build the structure, policies, and people practices needed to support continued growth.
The position will support both North America and play an important role in organizational effectiveness, employee relations, talent strategy, performance management, workforce planning, and HR infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with North American leadership and the global HR team to develop and enhance HR policies, processes, and programs aligned with U.S. best practices.
- Advise senior leaders on organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, succession planning, and employee development.
- Lead and support recruiting strategy, hiring, onboarding, and integration efforts across the region.
- Provide hands-on guidance to leaders regarding performance management, coaching, disciplinary actions, career development, and complex employee matters.
- Manage and resolve complex employee relations matters, including conducting thorough and objective workplace investigations.
- Maintain strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations and partner with Legal as appropriate to mitigate risk and ensure compliance.
- Partner with leadership to strengthen employee engagement, retention, culture, and organizational effectiveness.
- Coordinate payroll activities with the global Compensation & Benefits team to support accurate, compliant, and timely payroll.
- Partner with the global Learning & Development team to identify and address regional training and development needs.
- Support international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to 1–2 HR/administrative team members.
- Collaborate across global time zones, including regular partnership with the company's headquarters in China.
- Travel throughout the United States based on business needs.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant responsibility for complex employee relations matters in the U.S.
- Demonstrated success as a strategic HR leader within a fast-paced, high-growth, or entrepreneurial organization.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
- Proven experience independently managing complex employee relations issues and workplace investigations.
- Experience advising senior leadership on organizational design, workforce planning, performance management, and talent strategy.
- Strong business acumen with excellent judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to operate independently while effectively collaborating within a global organization and across cultures and time zones.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
