This is a remote position supporting a distributed, multi-state field workforce, working closely with the Director of Safety Operations and the Manager of EHS team.
What You Will Do
- Manage the day-to-day administration of workers' compensation claims, including intake, documentation, and coordination with carriers and third-party administrators (TPAs).
- Track claim status, reserves, and timelines, following up proactively to keep claims moving toward resolution.
- Apply working knowledge of workers' compensation codes and classifications to ensure claims are coded, filed, and reported correctly.
- Support return-to-work and light-duty programs, coordinating with managers and injured employees on accommodations and timelines.
- Maintain accurate claims records and documentation in compliance with state-specific requirements.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers with questions about an open claim.
- Provide broader HR generalist support to the Safety/EHS function, including policy questions, documentation, and employee relations support related to safety or injury situations.
- Ensure workers' compensation claims and related documentation comply with federal, state, and local regulations across all states of operation.
- Partner with HR, Legal, and Risk Management on workers' compensation-related matters.
- Collaborate with field leadership and the Manager of EHS team to support injured employees and track claim-related accommodations.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation claims administration
- 3-5 years HR generalist work
- Experience working with workers' compensation carriers or third-party administrators preferred.
- Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or similar certification is a plus.
- Experience supporting a distributed, multi-state field workforce.
- Experience in construction, telecommunications, utility, or other field-based industries.
