Position Overview
Assemble is hiring a Web Editor & Designer to support our film website builds and digital marketing efforts. This role is a mix of website editing, light web design, data entry/quality control, and digital asset preparation within our custom CMS and existing systems.
This role is intended for an active freelance designer/editor who is already working with clients and is looking to add ongoing, structured work to their workload. You should be technically confident with HTML, CSS, and Photoshop, highly detail-oriented, and comfortable executing within established systems and templates.
Responsibilities
- Make updates and edits inside Assemble’s custom CMS to support new film website builds and ongoing site maintenance.
- Design, format, and edit website pages using Assemble’s established website formula, client assets, and brand guidelines.
- Apply HTML and CSS as needed to adjust layouts, styling, and presentation within existing page structures.
- Perform data entry and data verification in the backend of our system to ensure all film, client, and campaign information is accurate and complete.
- Review pages and data for accuracy, formatting, broken links, missing content, and other issues before anything goes live.
- Prepare and optimize images for web use, including cutting, masking, resizing, and exporting assets in Photoshop.
- Create basic digital marketing materials (web-ready graphics, simple layouts using provided assets and templates).
- Follow existing workflows and checklists for site builds, updates, approvals, and publishing.
- Proactively flag missing assets, data issues, or risks to quality or timelines.
- Document recurring issues and suggest opportunities to reduce errors or improve efficiency.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must currently have active clients
- Strong working knowledge of HTML and CSS (required).
- 10+ years of hands-on Adobe Photoshop experience, including cutting images, masking, retouching, and preparing assets for web.
- Experience editing and managing websites in WordPress or a similar CMS.
- Proven ability to work within established systems, templates, and brand guidelines.
- Strong eye for layout, spacing, typography, and visual hierarchy.
- Extremely detail-oriented; comfortable with repetitive, accuracy-driven work.
- Clear, proactive communicator who raises issues early and follows direction closely.
- Located within a U.S. time zone.
Role Details
- Type: Part-time, contract
- Schedule: Flexible, with responsiveness during agreed-upon working hours
