About the Role

This opportunity is for a hands-on People Operations Specialist responsible for the day-to-day execution of core People processes across the employee lifecycle. The role owns new hire onboarding while supporting payroll processing, employee changes, offboarding, benefits administration, employee questions, HR documentation, and accurate employee records.

The position also focuses on improving People Operations through scalable workflows, AI, and automation. Working closely with the VP of People, this role supports HRIS and People systems, employee self-service resources, EOR relationships across the Americas (AMER), and the future selection and implementation of an HRIS while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and a strong employee experience.

What You'll Do

Onboarding & Offboarding

  • Own the new hire experience from offer acceptance through onboarding, including new hire communications, pre-boarding coordination, and new hire orientation.
  • Manage and support day-to-day People Operations processes, including payroll processing, employee changes, offboarding, benefits administration, and employee questions, with a high degree of accuracy and follow-through.
  • Continuously improve People Operations workflows by using AI and automation where appropriate to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, and create a better employee experience.

Employee Support

  • Serve as a first point of contact for employee questions about pay, benefits, policies, and People processes, providing timely support and escalating complex matters when appropriate.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and current FAQs, policy guides, and internal resources that enable employees to find the information they need through self-service.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential employee information with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism.

IT & Systems Support

  • Coordinate system access and equipment requirements for new hires and departing employees, including laptop ordering and the provisioning and deprovisioning of accounts, tools, and permissions in partnership with IT.
  • Maintain accurate and current employee records across the HRIS and related People systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic system and access issues and coordinate with IT when more complex support is required.

Strategic & AI-Enabled Process Improvement

  • Partner with the VP of People to identify opportunities to use AI and automation across People processes and programs, including onboarding and offboarding.
  • Pilot and help implement new tools and workflows that improve operational efficiency and the employee experience.
  • Support the future selection and implementation of an HRIS by helping evaluate requirements, organize and migrate employee data, test workflows, and support rollout and adoption.
  • Anticipate People Team needs as the organization scales and proactively develop repeatable processes and documentation that simplify workflows and reduce manual work.

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in People Operations, HR, or a related function, ideally within a high-growth, early-stage startup environment.
  • Hands-on experience across core People Operations functions, including onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee support, and HR systems.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms and People systems.
  • Experience managing EOR relationships and coordinating employee onboarding and offboarding across the Americas (AMER).

Required Skills

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the judgment and discretion required to handle sensitive and confidential employee information.
  • Ability to work effectively within a lean People team while managing competing priorities and adapting quickly as organizational needs change.
  • Interest in using AI and automation to simplify workflows, reduce manual work, and improve People Operations processes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting an HRIS implementation or migration.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, early-stage startup environment.

Benefits

  • Health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) plan.
