We are a growing, mission-driven company looking for an Accounts Receivable Assistant to join our finance team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their accounting or finance career who wants to gain hands-on experience in accounts receivable and grow with a fast-moving company.
As an Accounts Receivable Assistant, you will support the day-to-day management of customer and partner accounts, payments, invoicing, and financial records. You'll work closely with the accounting and finance teams and collaborate with other departments to make sure payments are accurately recorded, invoices are properly tracked, and outstanding balances are followed up on. This is an entry-level role, so we don't expect you to know everything. We're looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable with numbers, and eager to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day accounts receivable activities.
- Prepare and send invoices to customers, partners, and other business accounts.
- Accurately record and apply customer payments.
- Monitor outstanding invoices and accounts receivable balances.
- Assist with payment follow-up and customer account inquiries.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with bank and payment processor reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate and organized customer and financial records.
- Research and resolve payment and billing issues.
- Coordinate with internal teams to resolve invoicing and payment questions.
- Assist with refunds, credits, and account adjustments as needed.
- Support monthly and year-end close activities.
- Prepare basic accounts receivable reports and summaries.
- Help maintain documentation and improve accounts receivable processes.
- Provide general support to the accounting team as needed.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or administrative experience.
- Accounting, finance, business, or related education is preferred but not required.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to follow processes while also identifying and resolving discrepancies.

- Recent graduates and candidates with relevant internships or transferable experience are encouraged to apply.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with accounts receivable or bookkeeping.
- Experience with an accounting system such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar.
- Experience with payment platforms or online transactions.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
- Experience working in a startup, technology, travel, or e-commerce company.
- Experience working with a remote or distributed team.
