• Lead the GAAP and statutory tax provision process, including quarterly and year-end close activities. Review or prepare permanent/temporary differences, required disclosures, and supporting documentation.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities, and help enhance tax systems and workflows across the team.
• Manage the relationship with external preparers and coordinate federal and state income tax filings, estimates, and planning needs.
• Prepare and review tax accruals to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Partner with finance leaders to improve forecasting of tax cash needs, assess P&L impacts, and support budgeting for fixed tax-related expenses.
• Oversee continuous improvements across tax provision, compliance, planning, and financial reporting to ensure everything remains aligned and efficient.

What Experience You'll Have:

• 7+ years of GAAP (ASC 740) and STAT (SSAP 101) tax accounting experience.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and interpret complex tax issues.
• Experienced in preparing tax calculations, journal entries, and GAAP/STAT disclosures.
• Proven track record in process improvements, automation, and enhancing tax workflows.
• Effective communicator with experience partnering across finance and supporting auditors/regulators.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Background in coaching or developing team members.
• Solid experience in state tax compliance, including managing third-party return prep and estimated payments.
