What We Look For In a Physical Science Tutor

• Advanced Subject Mastery: Deep knowledge of mechanics, energy, waves, electricity, magnetism, atomic structure, chemical reactions, periodic table, states of matter, and basic thermodynamics. • Curriculum Awareness & Adaptive Instruction: Familiar with physical science curricula covering introductory physics and chemistry topics, and common challenges such as understanding abstract force concepts, distinguishing physical from chemical changes, and applying mathematical formulas to science problems. Adapts instruction using laboratory demonstrations, visual simulations, and scaffolded problem sets to support middle and early high school students building foundational science skills.
• Effective Teaching Methods: Ability to identify concepts students commonly struggle with, explain material using multiple approaches, and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and styles.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, engaging teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
