Position Overview
The Talent Acquisitions Interviewer (Contract) will be responsible for conducting structured, unbiased interviews and delivering objective, well-documented candidate evaluations to support informed hiring decisions.
This role partners closely with Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, and Hiring Managers to assess candidate qualifications, competencies, and cultural alignment, while ensuring full compliance with employment laws and established hiring standards. The ideal candidate is an experienced interviewer who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and highly professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct structured and behavioral interviews for assigned roles across multiple job families and seniority levels
- Evaluate candidates against predefined competencies, role requirements, and success criteria
- Ensure fair, consistent, and unbiased interview practices
- Utilize standardized interview guides, rating scales, and assessment tools as applicable
- Document interview findings clearly and objectively, providing actionable feedback and hiring recommendations
- Maintain confidentiality and data privacy at all times
- Deliver timely interview summaries and scoring within agreed-upon service-level expectations
- Represent the organization professionally and contribute to a positive candidate experience
QualificationsRequired
- Prior experience interviewing as an independent contractor, particularly for:
- Senior-level or leadership roles
- Technical, niche, or specialized skill sets
- Strong proficiency with technology, business systems, and applicant tracking systems (ATS)
- Ability to multitask, reprioritize quickly, and perform effectively in a deadline-driven environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with candidates and stakeholders
- Interviewing certification is a plus
- Mining, energy, oil, or gas industry experience is a strong plus
- High School Diploma or GED plus six (6) years of Talent Acquisition or Human Resources-related experience OR
- Three (3) years of Talent Acquisition or Human Resources-related experience conducting professional interviews (employment, executive, panel, or assessment-based)
- Strong knowledge of behavioral and competency-based interviewing techniques
- Ability to objectively assess candidate skills, experience, and potential
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Familiarity with employment laws and compliant interviewing practices (e.g., EEOC, non-discriminatory standards)
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and ethical judgment
- Ability to manage multiple interview assignments and meet deadlines
- Reliable access to required technology (video conferencing platforms, applicant tracking systems, etc.)
*T__his position may be performed anywhere in the U.S. except: California, Connecticut, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New York, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and South Carolina. Additional states may be excluded as well based on business factors.
