Job Title: Benefit Advocate Location: Remote (must be in Pacific Time Zone) Employment Type: Temp to Hire Pay: $30-$32/hr. Work Schedule: Mon-Fri 9:00-5:00 PT (37.5 hours per week)
Job Summary We're looking for a Benefit Advocate to join our client's Employee Resource Center, supporting clients who rely on them to manage some or all of their employee benefits administration. This role serves as a key connection point between this company's clients, their employees, and their corporate HR teams.
You'll be responsible for day‑to‑day benefits operations, employee support, regulatory compliance, and ensuring smooth execution of enrollment activities. If you have a strong background in benefits and enjoy helping employees navigate their options, this is a great opportunity to grow your career.
What You'll Do
- Oversee health and welfare benefits for an assigned group of clients.
- Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, HSA, and COBRA benefits.
- Manage employee self‑service tools and troubleshoot system issues.
- Facilitate transmission of enrollment and eligibility data to carriers and vendors.
- Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance on plan options, requirements, and processes.
- Offer support and updates to employer contacts or HR teams.
- Prepare premium and payroll deduction reports.
- Ensure compliance with key regulations, including HIPAA and COBRA.
- Coordinate and distribute benefit communications, especially during Open Enrollment.
- Conduct account audits and support ongoing client service initiatives.
What You Bring
- 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration with an employer, insurer, or third‑party administrator.
- Ability to quickly learn and navigate benefits systems and platforms (experience with tools like BeneTrac or ADP is helpful).
- Working knowledge of enrollment processes, eligibility, and COBRA requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong communication skills, particularly over the phone.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or equivalent experience.
- CEBS certification is a plus.
