Role Description

We’re hiring a Lead of Quality Assurance to own our testing strategy, define and enforce quality standards, and partner tightly with developers to keep the product reliable, stable, and trusted by users.

This is a hands-on lead role: you’ll test, write test plans, drive automation, and act as the quality advocate across the product. If you like improving systems, guiding a small team, and working on a real trading platform used by real traders, you’ll fit well.

What You’ll Do

Evaluate our current QA workflow, culture, and release process, then implement practical improvements. Partner with engineering and product to clarify requirements—task details, acceptance criteria, and test checklists—and ensure every release meets standards for reliability, correctness, performance, and UX.

Run systematic, documented manual testing, and build/maintain automated coverage (JS/Puppeteer) with a healthy CI pipeline. Work with developers to strengthen lower-level testing (unit/integration/service tests), lead a 2-person QA team, and help define how we measure, track, and enforce quality across the product.

How We Work

We’re a small team (~10 engineers + 2 QA), remote-first, with a preference for Chicago-area candidates.

Process is lightweight—Scrum/Kanban blend with high ownership. Engineers test their own work; QA drives coverage and discipline and performs final verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an information technology field, or equivalent work experience
• 2 years experience conducting structured manual testing (test checklists, test cases, reproducibility flows)
• 2 year experience writing and maintaining automated tests, ideally using JavaScript + Puppeteer or similar frameworks.
• 1 year experience leading QA efforts (whether as QA Lead, Senior QA, QA Manager, or similar)
• Ability to collaborate with developers on determining necessary unit/integration coverage
• Experience with trading, trading strategy development, backtesting or similar (nice to have)
