Tag Communications Services is looking for a freelance creative and technical editor to support our growing marketing agency. We’re a close-knit, deadline-driven content team, working every day with marketing professionals to create compelling, well-written and edited marketing content. The ideal candidate will be available for 10-20 hours of freelance work per week, with some availability for meetings during EST working hours. Training and work assignments will begin in January 2026.
Responsibilities:
· Edit B2B copy to translate technical concepts to conversational content
· Apply corporate branding standards and style guidelines to all copy
· Follow a variety of detailed processes to edit different types of content, including blogs, brochures, social content, and more
· Collaborate with writers and clients to ensure that the correct messaging and tonality is achieved to meet specified requirements
· Identify and escalate content issues related to standards and guidelines
· Identify, plan, and prepare content for layout, publication, or syndication
· Employ corporate templates and tools when applicable
· Ensure all content delivered to clients is clean and free of errors
· Maintain accurate records of total hours required to complete projects
Requirements/Skills:
· 5-10 years’ professional freelance editing experience with proven skills in editing technical copy
· Ability to understand and apply corporate branding, guidelines, and standards, and incorporate them in all editing
· Ability to accept and apply constructive feedback to adapt to the style and quality standards of the writing/editing team
· Willingness to use workflow software tools to manage project work and progress
· Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
· Ability to work under pressure, juggling multiple projects simultaneously
· Exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills
· Familiarity with the Chicago Manual of Style
· Reliable, flexible self-starter
· High level of customer service orientation and a can-do attitude
· Cultural sensitivity and understanding when interacting with clients and colleagues
· Willingness to acquire new skills
· Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, PowerPoint)
