About The Role

Within the Genospace team at Ontada, our mission is to be the leading information platform for applied precision medicine. We are an interdisciplinary team merging genomics, healthcare, data analytics, web development, and cloud computing to serve research, clinical development, pathology, and clinical care customers handling high-dimensional genomic and biomedical data. Many advanced organizations in precision medicine rely on Genospace's innovative solutions.

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer who is eager to solve novel problems and contribute to building and delivering our Genospace software platform. As a key member of our team, you will help develop software used by clinicians and researchers worldwide to improve patient outcomes and advance medical research.

Your impact will be significant, influencing patient care, supporting research breakthroughs, enabling personalized medicine, and facilitating advanced laboratory analyses across the healthcare spectrum.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of relevant professional experience in software development
  • Experience building web applications or data processing systems
  • Proficiency with web technologies and at least one common programming language
  • Experience with front-end technologies, back-end development, and database systems
  • Strong ability to design software solutions that meet functional and technical requirements
  • Effective communication skills to articulate design and technical decisions
  • Creative and critical thinking skills for problem-solving in collaborative environments
  • Educational background in computer science, engineering, or related STEM fields (4-year degree or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy features for web-based, cloud-hosted applications within a small, collaborative team
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers to ensure high-quality software
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes, products, and technology platform
  • Collaborate with product owners, data scientists, and designers to develop innovative solutions
  • Maintain and support existing applications, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate best practices into development workflows
