Senior Full Stack Engineer

About the team:

You’ll be joining our engineering team led by VP of Engineering Jackie Ta who brings a decade of experience in health tech startups. She was one of the founding engineers for multiple teams that either achieved IPO or were acquired. At Respin Health, cross-functional collaboration is key; you'll work daily with colleagues in product, marketing, science, strategy & operations, in addition to engineering. This is a foundational opportunity to influence both technical direction and culture.

About the role:

We’re looking for a senior full stack engineer to take ownership of our web and backend stack - someone who can help shape the product direction as well as implement the vision. You’ll be upgrading and redesigning the existing codebase while incorporating new web features and providing APIs to the mobile app. You will also be supporting and mentoring our junior engineer to use best practices in coding, architecture, and software development methodologies.

We collaborate with the designer, CEO, and other operational leaders to define the product and sequence the work. This is a great opportunity for a strong engineer and lead who is passionate about our mission.

Areas you might be working on:

• Redesigning the user intake flow
• Creating robust APIs for the mobile app
• Improving WCAG accessibility compliance
• Supporting analytics for marketing and reporting purposes
• Implementing a proper design system
• Additions for SEO

About you:

You have at minimum 5+ years of experience with a strong background in end-to-end development. If you don’t meet all of the requirements below but are eager to learn, we’d love to hear from you.

Technical Skills:

• Core Languages: Advanced proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript (including Node.js, React.js, and Next.js)
• Backend Expertise: Deep experience with relational database architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems
• Frontend Expertise:
• Understanding of best practices for web performance, responsive design, SEO, and WCAG accessibility
• Experience with design systems and use of UI libraries such as TailwindCSS to build standard, composable UI elements from Figma mockups
• Experience with supporting conversion funnels - including lead funnels, conversion metrics, performance metrics, and performance tracking.
• Usage of CMS systems for marketing-related content
• Full-Stack Capability: Strong familiarity with Next.js for building modern full-stack applications, including server-side rendering, API routes, and integration with backend services.
• Security: Knowledge of security best practices and implementation of authorization and SSO using common providers like Auth0
• DevOps & Tooling: Familiar with CI/CD pipelines especially with Github and Github Actions
• Test automation: Experience with common testing frameworks such as Jest and Cypress

Bonus points:

• Health tech and startup experience
• Familiarity with behavioral design principles

About the role:

• This role is fully remote, US-based. Sorry, we are unable to sponsor visas at this time.
• As part of a distributed team spanning multiple time zones, you are required to be available during core hours for real-time collaboration though hours are flexible outside of that.

There will not be whiteboard interviews, take-home projects, or Leetcode questions. If you seem like a good fit based on your background and behavioral interviews, we will offer a short-term contract. If the experience is positive for both of us, we will move quickly to a full-time offer.
