As the Senior Project Manager, you will provide overall leadership and accountability for the successful execution of a major capital project, including scope, cost, schedule, quality, safety, risk, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup. This position will provide direct leadership and oversight during construction, system turnover, pre-commissioning, commissioning, operational readiness, and facility startup.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead the Project Team to deliver the project on schedule, within budget, and with world-class safety performance.
- Perform direct oversight of the engineering contractor to ensure adequacy, completeness, and quality of all engineering deliverables.
- Drive FEL2/FEL3 stage-gate readiness, including deliverable tracking, cost estimate development, schedule, and risk management supporting each gate decision.
- Plan and manage the transition from FEL3 into detailed design, long-lead procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
- Ensure engineering deliverables remain consistent with the applicable regulatory license application and the quality assurance program.
- Work with the Cost Estimating Manager to develop and implement a Work Breakdown Structure for the project.
- Work with the Procurement organization to manage and track all purchases, contracts, and invoices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Experience delivering projects through a FEED / stage-gate process.
- Twenty (20) or more years of experience in chemical, process, or related heavy industrial sectors.
- Ten (10) or more years of project management experience in capital project execution.
- Experience successfully working with major engineering and construction firms preferred.
