PeerSource is currently recruiting for multiple Outside Sales Representatives on a Direct Hire basis. These roles are remote but must be based out of either New Jersey or the Philadelphia metro area as they require frequent local travel to client sites.
Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Outside Sales Representative to drive new business growth and expand existing customer relationships. This position focuses on consultative selling strategies that deliver value to clients through product knowledge, service excellence, and effective relationship management. The ideal candidate will contribute to achieving sales goals and enhancing customer satisfaction in a competitive, service-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop new business and grow existing customer accounts through strategic visits, relationship building, and value-driven sales interactions.
- Meet or exceed individual sales and profitability targets by utilizing cross-selling, upselling, and promotional offers.
- Build detailed weekly/monthly agendas for customer visits, ensuring efficient planning and time management.
- Promote the benefits and features of products to enhance customer satisfaction and transaction value.
- Stay informed on market conditions, including competitor pricing and positioning, and communicate key insights to internal stakeholders.
- Handle order entry, quotes, and returns accurately when needed, while following up on customer orders to ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate with inside sales, branch teams, and support departments to ensure seamless customer experiences.
- Uphold a professional image and serve as a brand ambassador by providing outstanding customer care.
- Maintain accurate customer profiles, call logs, and schedule documentation within CRM or other company tools.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in outside sales or a similar customer-facing sales role.
- Experience in wholesale or distribution sales is strongly preferred, ideally in HVAC and/or plumbing supply.
- Proven ability to achieve sales goals and drive business growth through proactive outreach.
- Strong negotiation, presentation, and interpersonal skills with a consultative selling approach.
- Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and adapt to shifting priorities.
- Familiarity with logistics, shipping procedures, and order processing systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of ERP/CRM platforms a plus.
