Join our client's team as a dynamic and detail-oriented Editor, where your expertise will play a pivotal role in shaping high-quality content across various pharmaceutical brands. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to excellence will ensure that all editorial materials meet the highest standards.
This role is 3-6 month contract + possible extension. 100% remote. Onward Search provides benefits for 40 hour work week and weekly paychecks (W2) for duration of the contract.

Key Responsibilities
- Edit and proofread content for multiple brands, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
- Conduct thorough fact-checking using provided references, ensuring the use of credible sources.
- Collaborate closely with the Editorial Director and team members to uphold quality and achieve objectives.
- Efficiently manage and prioritize tasks, meetings, and projects to meet deadlines with precision.
- Gain a deep understanding of assigned brands and product categories to ensure content alignment.
- Uphold client and brand guidelines, demonstrating a commitment to quality and consistency.
- Provide constructive feedback and innovative ideas to enhance processes and reduce errors.
- Mentor junior team members and freelancers, fostering a culture of editorial integrity.
- Actively support colleagues to ensure smooth workflow within the department.
- Develop and maintain brand style guides and bibliographies promptly.
- Apply AMA style and adapt to various editorial styles as required by different brands.
Qualifications
- A college degree in any field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a pharmaceutical advertising agency is strongly preferred; equivalent experience (3+ years) in a medical education company will also be considered.
- Proven experience (3+ years) conducting a full range of editorial reviews, including cold reads, compares, full reads, disaster checks, and check changes, with the judgment to determine what each round requires.
- Strong understanding of the ad agency editorial process, with the ability to manage assigned work independently.
- Must be able to assess tasks upon receipt, define requirements, and determine the most effective approach—rather than relying solely on step-by-step instructions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with brand teams and editorial colleagues.
- Experience working with oncology brands or neurotoxins is a strong plus, though not required.
- Proven ability to work independently with a proactive and self-motivated approach.
- Adaptability to changing deadlines, with the ability to offer creative solutions.
- Proficiency in current AMA style and FDA guidelines for pharmaceutical products and devices.
- Strong skills in MS Office (Outlook, Teams, Word), Adobe Acrobat, and/or ProofHQ.
