New Horizons of North Texas is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to empowering at-risk youth through tutoring, mentoring, and faith-based initiatives. Based in Dallas, Texas, New Horizons serves children in East Dallas with afterschool programs providing dedicated mentoring and a four-week summer camp. The organization partners with local communities, churches, corporations, and other supporters to provide educational and personal development opportunities. Founded in 2015, New Horizons assists students from elementary to high school graduation, helping them break cycles to create new, positive life stories.
Role Description
This is a part-time remote role for a Site Assistant. The Site Assistant will support the daily operations of New Horizons programs, including assisting with student activities, maintaining communication with program participants and their families, and collaborating with staff and volunteers. Additional responsibilities include tracking attendance, ensuring compliance with program guidelines, and providing administrative support. The role requires flexibility and a proactive approach to supporting the program's overall objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and relationship-building with students, families, and team members
- Experience in education, tutoring, mentoring, or working with youth is highly beneficial
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with common office software
- Passion for supporting the growth and development of at-risk youth
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience preferred
