Sr. Data Engineer - remote

Job Details: Sr. Data Engineer Full time remote opening with a rapidly growing client! Seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to immediately contribute to building scalable, efficient data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric. Ideal candidates will have strong experience with Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and financial data systems, along with a solid understanding of SOX compliance, CI/CD, data masking, and Medallion architecture. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, ADF, and SSIS
• Ingest, transform, and load data from diverse sources (flat files, SQL Server, Excel, JSON, etc.)
• Develop data reconciliation, error handling, and logging mechanisms
• Implement and optimize integration flows (API and file-based)
• Collaborate with Analytics Engineers and Data Owners to gather requirements and ensure reliable data delivery
• Monitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot data issues proactively
• Ensure data is accurately loaded into Operational Data Stores (ODS) and other repositories
• Implement data governance, PII masking, and compliance processes (e.g., SOX)
• Support CI/CD deployment pipelines and automation
• Apply Medallion architecture principles to data environments
• Mentor junior team members and promote engineering best practices
• Stay current with evolving data technologies and tools

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 7+ years of data engineering experience, preferably in financial services
• Proficiency in:

• Microsoft Fabric (preferred)
• Azure Data Factory or SSIS
• Complex SQL development
• Data architecture concepts (normalization, ODS, dimensional modeling)
• Programming (Python, Java, or Scala)
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• CI/CD tools and pipelines
• Data masking and PII handling
• Medallion architecture principles

Soft Skills & Tools

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Experience working in Agile teams and adapting to shifting priorities
• Detail-oriented, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple tasks independently
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, CONCATENATE, PivotTables)
