Data Center Solutions Director

Job Title: Solutions Director, Data Center, Center of Excellence (CoE) Reports To: Vice President Data Center Solutions Location: Remote / Flexible (San Diego, CA preferred for Innovation Lab proximity) Overview We are seeking a visionary and technically adept Solutions Director to lead our Data Center Center of Excellence (CoE) and Solutions Architect team. This role is responsible for driving technical innovation, enabling strategic initiatives, supporting business development, and delivering differentiated data center solutions that align with Daikin’s F30 Data Center Strategy. The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a collaborative mindset to elevate our data center capabilities and customer experience. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Data Center, Center of Excellence and Solutions Architect Team
• Drive technical innovation and coordinate development of new technologies and reference architectures/designs
• Define and implement data center-specific standards and best practices
• Collaborate with business units to shape the Daikin data center New Product Roadmap
• Engage with Original Equipment Manufacturers OEMs, engineering firms, and consultants to prepare and influence the market
• Oversee the Innovation Lab focused on white space solutions, including PoC testing, benchmarking, and software integration
• Support training, demos, and co-development efforts to enhance customer experience

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in technical and solutions architecture roles within data center or HVAC industries, with expertise in at least one data center domain (grey space or white space)
• Strong systems application and product integration knowledge
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and emotional intelligence skills
• Sales and business development mindset
• Experience managing innovation labs or technical centers is a plus

Role Impact This role is pivotal in positioning Daikin Applied as a leader in data center solutions. By fostering innovation, standardizing excellence, and enabling strategic growth, the Solutions Director will help shape the future of our data center business and deliver unmatched value to our customers. The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $126,100-$215,400 plus a plus a 25% BIP Target (buyer in process). The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
