Many virtual schools prioritize access over achievement. They provide online instruction. They do not guarantee results. GT School operates under a different model. We support Gifted & Talented students in grades K–8 using AI-driven curriculum and mentorship held to rigorous standards. We are now expanding our virtual offering to enable families to access GT-caliber acceleration regardless of location. This position is responsible for creating a virtual school model that is demanding, credible, and demonstrably effective. You will control the entire operational architecture of the virtual program. This encompasses the design of the student journey, management of advisor performance, targeted cohort-level actions, and cultivation of parent confidence. No established framework exists for this role. You will conduct root-cause analysis, execute rapid iteration, participate directly in live delivery when required, and establish the infrastructure that makes 3× learning gains sustainable and repeatable. This is a creation-oriented role for an operator who values measurement. Your scorecard includes retention rates, learning velocity, parent trust indicators, and tangible student achievement. If you seek authority, operational complexity, and unambiguous ownership, this role defines that mandate. What You Will Be Doing

  • Architecting and iteratively improving the complete virtual student journey to accelerate learning, foster competition, and build community
  • Conducting weekly reviews of student outcomes, advisor effectiveness, and parent feedback to surface issues and execute rapid course corrections
  • Managing the operational integrity of the 3× learning framework, spotting XP deficits and creating systems that sustain student momentum
  • Collaborating with advisors to deploy cohort-specific interventions and preemptive parent outreach ahead of potential concerns
  • Developing onboarding, calibration, and coaching protocols for advisors using recorded sessions, dashboards, and quantitative performance data

  • Managing a fixed program governed by rigid schedules and lengthy approval processes
  • Relying on others to surface performance challenges while remaining removed from frontline execution
  • Prioritizing enrollment or participation metrics over verified academic progress
  • Generating reports that fail to translate into concrete shifts in student outcomes or advisor actions

Virtual School Director Key Responsibilities Design and operate a scalable virtual school model that reliably produces 3× learning gains, builds lasting parent confidence, and sustains family engagement through transparent and celebrated student achievement. Basic Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing a virtual school or digital education program from inception to sustained operation
  • Background in teaching or instructional design with hands-on involvement in content delivery across in-person, virtual, or hybrid environments
  • Advanced diagnostic skill leveraging dashboards, recorded sessions, and structured feedback to uncover underlying issues and implement targeted solutions
  • Track record of leading distributed teams with explicit expectations, accountability structures, and consistent execution
  • Proven capability in parent-facing communication with a history of proactive, trust-centered engagement

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience creating motivational systems—such as competitions, leaderboards, or recurring community events—that maintain high levels of student commitment
  • Familiarity with emerging or AI-enhanced instructional approaches
  • Experience developing and executing formal staff development programs, including structured onboarding and performance calibration
