Vice President Campus Design, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $200,000/year USD
Job Description
Posted on: December 8, 2025
Certain spaces simply work. You instinctively want to understand what makes them succeed. If you're a designer who perceives both micro-details and macro-systems, who comes alive in physical environments rather than concept boards, and who is convinced that elegant, high-performing spaces can be systematized, this role will leverage your talent. We are establishing a nationwide network of 2 Hour Learning campuses. These sites enable students to complete an entire academic day within two focused hours, then devote the remainder to passion projects, essential life competencies, and physical activity. Your responsibility is to make these environments exceptional. As the execution lead for interior environments throughout our network, you will establish modular standards governing layout, FF&E, play areas, and wayfinding. You will guarantee precise implementation at each location. You will visit campuses in person, identify overlooked deficiencies, develop upgrade scopes, and shepherd them from budgeting through installation. This design role differs from conventional positions because it keeps you connected to execution. You will not release specifications and disengage. You will be present—correcting the installation, coaching the contractor, and gathering insights that refine subsequent deployments. If you are prepared to transform your design expertise into measurable national influence, this is your opportunity. What You Will Be Doing
- Establish modular, self-directed design frameworks for layout, FF&E, finishes, and play environments that function across varied campus settings
- Execute on-site evaluations using standardized instruments to measure adherence to brand criteria and identify high-value enhancements
- Prepare detailed, visually documented, budget-conscious proposals for spatial improvements that serve pedagogy, brand identity, and family experience
- Supervise contractor performance on-site, maintaining fidelity to standards, budgets, and schedules through live quality assurance
- Complete the feedback cycle after installation by recording outcomes, lessons learned, and revising operational guides
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Crafting bespoke, artisan environments that cannot be systematized or reproduced.
- Releasing documentation and stepping back. You own the full process from evaluation through completion.
- Waiting for comprehensive inputs. This role values proactive thinking, rapid cycles, and sound judgment amid uncertainty.
- Inventing unstructured designs from the ground up. The work is tightly aligned to brand and operational realities.
- Operating primarily from an office. You will be traveling and on-site 50-75% of the time.
