Job Description

Posted on: March 22, 2026

You step into a room and immediately sense whether it reflects intentional design or a series of compromises. You register lighting quality, spatial arrangement, visible clutter, furniture density, and overall atmosphere. Once you notice what's misaligned, you cannot ignore it. If you are ready to establish the visual and experiential identity of a high-performance school, this opportunity is for you. 2 Hour Learning operates AI-powered private schools where students complete their core academics in two hours each day, dedicating the remainder to life skills and self-directed learning. As our network of campuses grows nationwide, the physical spaces must reflect our educational philosophy: composed, purposeful, unconventional, and distinctly premium. Your role is to define that standard and ensure it translates reliably across every location. You will establish the design framework, translate it into spatial plans that depart from conventional classroom models, and document standards that preserve brand consistency as we expand. This is neither vendor coordination nor facilities management. It is sophisticated, rapid-cycle design work with tangible constraints and high organizational visibility. If you possess the discernment to shape a new category and the execution speed to deliver without compromise, we want to hear from you. What You Will Be Doing

  • Developing comprehensive campus design vision documents (philosophy, mood boards, material palettes, lighting character, furnishing strategy) that communicate premium quality and avoid conventional school aesthetics
  • Generating detailed spatial layouts that support adaptable learning environments, seamless circulation, and coherent lighting and environmental principles
  • Establishing and curating design standards and parameters that ensure campus-to-campus consistency while accommodating varied site conditions
  • Executing rapid refinement cycles for active campuses by identifying improvement opportunities and producing prioritized action lists that elevate quality without stalling openings

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Coordinating vendors, selecting contractors, or handling procurement activities
  • Supervising construction, managing maintenance, or leading executive-level facilities oversight
  • Producing generic private school interiors with bright primary palettes and institutional-grade materials
  • Pursuing ideal outcomes at the expense of project timelines

Spatial Design Specialist Key Responsibilities This role ensures that every campus launches and matures with a category-defining, premium, unconventional physical presence that remains uniform as we scale. Basic Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in interior, spatial, environmental, or experiential design
  • Portfolio demonstrating premium physical environments (e.g., hospitality, luxury residential, boutique commercial, cruise ship, or experiential projects)
  • Demonstrated capability to independently produce mood boards and comprehensive spatial concept direction
  • Demonstrated capability to develop spatial layouts that enhance flow, density, and user interaction
  • Deep understanding of materials and lighting (finishes, texture, lighting temperature, and their emotional impact)
  • Exceptional aesthetic judgment evidenced by restraint, proportion, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with AI tools or clear track record of swiftly adopting emerging design technologies
  • Authorization to work in the United States in a hybrid model requiring 50–70% travel to campus locations

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background designing scalable multi-location environments supported by documented standards and templates
  • Experience creating unconventional learning, community, or wellness environments featuring flexible seating arrangements
  • Advanced rapid visualization and rendering capabilities that accelerate concept iteration and stakeholder alignment
