Job Description

Posted on: December 1, 2025

If you've overseen construction for schools, hospitals, or commercial sites and thought, "There's a faster way to do this," you should continue reading. At 2 Hour Learning, we operate the fastest-scaling school model in the nation. But every new location depends on regulatory clearance. Licenses, permits, and filings must be executed accurately and on an accelerated timeline. That's your responsibility. You'll determine compliance requirements, organize submissions sequentially, and ensure approvals arrive when needed. You'll leverage AI tools and automation systems, but you'll also make direct calls, follow up with contractors, and resolve exceptions that automation cannot address. This position suits someone who operates effectively under complexity and time pressure. You'll be part of a high-velocity organization with full resource backing, where execution speed is standard and quality is mandatory. You'll apply AI to reduce bureaucratic friction, shorten permitting cycles, and deliver results—not just documentation. If you're ready to be the person who converts "pending approval" into "cleared for launch," this role is for you. What You Will Be Doing

  • Aligning architects, contractors, and legal counsel to obtain all necessary construction and operational permits for education facilities.
  • Managing municipal permitting and inspection workflows across multiple jurisdictions — reducing delays and removing obstacles.
  • Compiling and filing complete approval packages: permit applications, regulatory submissions, and inspection records.
  • Tracking project progress and compliance exposure across all locations — ensuring real-time transparency and no unexpected issues.
  • Traveling to project sites (~75%) to engage directly with local regulators, inspectors, and service providers to maintain momentum.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Waiting for others to flag problems or finalize paperwork — you will own the complete outcome.
  • Spending your time confined to a desk — this is a field-based execution role, not an administrative position.
  • Applying a fixed, location-specific checklist — you'll develop custom solutions where standard processes don't exist.
  • Treating delays as unavoidable — speed combined with accuracy defines this role.
  • Depending on outdated tools or manual systems — you'll be required to automate workflows and refine them continuously.

Head Of Compliance & Permitting Key Responsibilities Obtain full regulatory and operational authorization to launch schools across jurisdictions more rapidly and thoroughly than conventional permitting methods permit. Basic Requirements

  • Located in the U.S. and legally authorized to work without requiring visa sponsorship.
  • Able and willing to travel approximately 75% of the time to U.S. cities and states.
  • 5+ years leading permitting, construction, or facilities expansion initiatives that included physical infrastructure and regulatory compliance.
  • 5+ years coordinating multiple contractors per project across different jurisdictions.
  • Documented history of delivering projects ahead of deadline while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
  • Experience delivering progress reports to technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Clear ownership track record — you served as the sole accountable party for project completion and problem resolution.
  • AI-native mindset — you default to automation and rapid iteration to accelerate delivery.
  • Written communication that is precise, actionable, and relied upon by senior leadership.
  • Strong regulatory discernment — you understand when to escalate, seek clarification, or challenge requirements.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience in construction management, education facility operations, or multi-location retail rollouts.
  • Background developing or refining AI-driven tools for permitting, compliance, or regulatory processes.
  • Previous engagement with fire marshals, building inspectors, and education regulatory agencies.
