You will work with structured and unstructured operational data to uncover trends, improve data quality, and support predictive and prescriptive use cases that enhance nuclear work planning, compliance, and performance.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams including nuclear operations stakeholders, product owners, engineers, and technical leads to ensure data is leveraged effectively to drive measurable operational improvements. If you are curious, analytical, and excited to grow your data science career in a high-impact industry, we encourage you to apply.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related technical field
  • 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data science, or machine learning (internships and academic projects included)
  • Hands-on experience with Python for data analysis and scripting
  • Experience working in Databricks environments for data processing or model development
  • Exposure to Microsoft Azure cloud services (Azure Data Factory, Azure ML, storage, or similar)
  • Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts (classification, regression, clustering)
  • Experience using data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, or similar
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for querying and transforming data
  • Understanding of data cleaning, preprocessing, and validation techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical and procedural requirements
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar
  • Understanding of machine learning workflows (feature engineering, model training, evaluation)
  • Experience working in regulated industries (energy, utilities, manufacturing, healthcare, etc.)
  • Exposure to Agile/Scrum project environments
  • Familiarity with version control (Git) and collaborative development practices

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Support data preparation for analytics and machine learning use cases related to nuclear online work management systems
  • Source, clean, transform, and profile operational and work management data from multiple systems
  • Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, anomalies, and data quality issues
  • Develop features and datasets to support predictive models and performance insights
  • Assist in building and testing machine learning models under guidance from senior data scientists
  • Validate model outputs against historical data and expected operational results
  • Build basic dashboards and visualizations to communicate trends, KPIs, and insights
  • Document data definitions, business rules, and data lineage
  • Collaborate with engineers and product teams to support data pipeline and analytics needs in Databricks and Azure
  • Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies as part of the data workstream
  • Contribute to improving data quality, governance, and usability across nuclear digital platforms
  • Clearly communicate findings and insights to stakeholders to support data-driven operational decisions
  • Continuously build technical and domain knowledge in data science and nuclear operations
