A multi-state law firm serving financial institutions across the U.S., is seeking a highly organized and motivated Litigation Attorney licensed in California to join its growing legal team. In this role, you’ll manage a high-volume caseload focused on real estate and mortgage litigation, draft key legal documents, attend court appearances, and guide clients through complex legal strategies. This is a fully remote position, though court travel within California may be required. The ideal candidate brings 2–8 years of real estate litigation experience, exceptional organizational skills, and a proactive mindset. They are looking for candidates who thrive in a remote, fast-paced, and tech-savvy environment, and who take pride in delivering strategic, client-focused legal representation. Salary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 / year DOE Litigation Attorney Responsibilities
- Manage a full caseload of contested litigation and pre-litigation matters related to real estate and mortgage servicing
- Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials
- Conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances as needed throughout California
- Advise clients on litigation strategy, legal risk, and case resolution
- Meet a billable hour requirement
- Collaborate with internal teams and support staff to maintain case progress and compliance
- Stay current with applicable legal statutes, including consumer protection and foreclosure laws
Litigation Attorney Requirements
- JD from an accredited law school
- Active and in-good-standing member of the California State Bar
- 2–8 years of litigation experience, preferably in real estate or mortgage defense
- Strong command of Microsoft Word and Outlook
- Ability to manage and prioritize large caseloads independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be highly organized, with strong time management and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable appearing in court and well-versed in evidentiary rules
- Knowledge of consumer protection laws is a plus
- Experience with foreclosure processes is preferred
- Familiarity with defense-side litigation
- Knowledge of California courts and procedures is a huge plus
