Staff Electrical EngineerUp to $170,000 + Bonuses + Stellar Benefits – Remote with Travel

Join a top-tier wood products leader as a Staff Electrical Engineer and shape the future of electrical safety and reliability across their U.S. facilities. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role where you'll work directly with senior leadership and make a real difference.

Work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.

Travel 30 to 50% to beautiful wood manufacturing sites (travel depends on experience)

As the EE SME on staff, your responsibilities will be:

  • Lead electrical system design, upgrades, and commissioning
  • Manage capital projects from concept to commissioning up to $4MM range
  • Responsible for multiple 5 MCC lineups that capture 50 motors ranging in size from 3 hp to 125 hp. 480V power distribution design from transformer to motors
  • MCC experience through local disconnects including VFD’s
  • Responsible for establishing the motor list, PDC and related feeders (MCC feeders and utility panels), MCC motor/bucket arrangement, size of VFD’s and starters, MCC control components and E-net configuration
  • Direct designers/consultants to detail the drawings, including cable and conduit schedules, field configuration (conduit, tray, above ground, underground, and routing), as well as electrical room general arrangements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and top-tier leadership
  • Stay ahead of industry standards and innovations.

Minimum required skills:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years in power distribution systems for wood products or similar heavy manufacturing
  • Deep knowledge of NFPA 70/70E, arc flash modeling, and system coordination
  • Strong project management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in EasyPower, ETAP, AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office.
