Position Overview:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and pragmatic Cover Design Assistant to act as a primary point of contact for our authors throughout the cover design process. This role is centered on excellent communication and inbox management. The ideal candidate will be a skilled communicator who excels at answering author questions clearly and ensuring a smooth and positive experience. While technical design skills are not required, an awareness of the creative process is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the cover design department’s inbox, providing timely and helpful responses to all author inquiries.
- Serve as the main contact between authors and our team of talented cover designers.
- Clearly communicate project timelines, processes, and next steps to authors.
- Receive and organize author feedback, forwarding notes accurately to the appropriate designers.
- Maintain organized records of all author communications and project statuses.
- Provide general administrative support to the cover design team to ensure an efficient workflow.
Requirements:
- Experience in a role requiring heavy email communication, such as customer service, project coordination, or administrative support.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a friendly, professional, and clear tone.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of emails effectively.
- A high level of attention to detail.
- A pragmatic and proactive approach to answering questions and solving problems.
- Must be a collaborative team player who fits our positive and supportive vibe.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in publishing, or a creative industry.
- A passion for books and an appreciation for the author’s journey.
- Familiarity with project management software or cloud-based organizational tools.
Position Details
- Hourly Rate: $20-$25/hour
- Hours: 10-20 hours per week to start, with the potential for more
- Reports to: Ronaldo Alves, Art Director
- Start Date: Immediately
- Location: Remote
